Cyprus is hot and getting hotter. It’s also busy, and wants to ensure that its environment and seas stay pristine. So, a new raft of measures has been introduced by the government to clean up its air and its act. Most will be familiar to new arrivals from Britain, but they’re taking some getting used to here…
According to the latest statistics, 571 GPs, 1,900 specialists and 202 pediatricians have signed to join the GESY healthcare system to date. The system has been in operation for two years now, and overall, I think this aspect of Cyprus’s social reform has been successful.
As I’m sure you’ll remember from what I’ve told you in my other feature articles, Cyprus is a fantastic place. You’ve got what I call the sun, sea, and sand at your fingertips whenever you choose to enjoy them. You’ve also got fantastic local, cultural tavernas and cosmopolitan restaurants and bars too, plus hotels that are operated to very high standards. So, not only is Cyprus a great place to take a well-earned holiday, but it’s also a brilliant place to live.
